Jersey Thing #3
In my job as an admissions counselor, I often have to travel anywhere from 5-50 miles between high schools I visit each day, sometimes 4-5 schools/day. Thus, a speedy commute is key to my job.
HOWEVER, a speedy commute seems impossible in northern New Jersey, unless it’s 3AM. The highways are all backed up in the morning with NYC traffic, so I decide it’s a good idea to take local routes to my destinations. Nope, that didn’t work. To go 20 miles seems to always take a solid 75-90 minutes, waiting for stoplights and jackasses that either go WAY TOO SLOW or cut people off, or like me, have no idea where they’re going.
Every intersection seems to have a jug handle where for every possible turn, you have to turn right first, go around a half circle, then wait at another light. ARRGH.
